Abstract

The decisions made in HeLa cells issue instils justice and highlights the importance of sound moral and ethical rights to attributed to individuals when their cells / tissues are availed for research purposes. The cascade of events related to HeLa cells is an eye opener and reiterates the importanceof informed consent in all biological samples. Further, any interest to commercialize need to be mentioned explicitly and measures to protect privacy needs to be discussedadequately to ensure fairness to human rights
