Abstract

A systematic study on structural, electrical, magnetic and thermo electric properties of bulksamples of Gd1–xSrxMnO3, synthesized by solid statereaction,is carried out in this communication. All the samples are in singl ephase with nodetectable impurities. All the samples exhibit insulating behavior and the results indicate that high temperature electrical resistivity can be explained us ingsmall polaron hopping (SPH) model, whereas variable hoppingmodel(VRH) model is valid in the low temperature regime.The magnetization results show that large irreversible magnetization is observed at low temperatures. The thermo electric power measurement demonstrates that these samples exhibit colossal thermo electric power
