Abstract
Nattokinase is a novel promising thrombolytic agent. Nattokinase fermentation by Bacillus subtilis 1A752 was modeled using unstructured kinetic models to depict the importance of growth and growth associated production. The logistic and Luedeking–Piret equations were used in batch fermentation with regard to glucose utilization and time. Model parameters (X0, μm, m, n, p and q) were determined by non linear regression using Matlab and the predicted parameter values had good agreement with the experimental data. Excellent significant R2 values of 0.998, 0.924 and 0.998 were observed for biomass, nattokinase production and substrate utilization. A simulink model was developed by considering the parameter values obtained from the fitting of batch culture data which can be a useful tool for scaling up the nattokinase production with consistency
