Abstract

BACKGROUND: eHealth applications assist the healthcare providers in accessing and managing health information and domain knowledge to provide quality healthcare to the community. AIM: This study was conducted with an aim to understand the perception of Allied Health Professionals about eHealth applications. METHODOS: A prospective study was conducted among 90 Allied Health Professionals using a validated tool to collect their response. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 20.0 and p<0.05 was considered significant. RESULTS: The majority of respondents felt that the eHealth applications have the potentials in collating and disseminating patient information, improving the communication among providers in quality decision making, and also in improving the overall productivity of the health care institutions. CONCLUSION: The study results revealed a good level of perception about eHealth application among the respondents but there were many of them had no opinion about the same. A proper awareness and training program can assist them in understating the applicability of eHealth applications in Patient care, research and education, administration and public health.
