Abstract

The concept of customer satisfaction and service quality are notably two important concepts in marketing. Indeed, the two concepts are important in addressing theoretical as well as practical issue for marketers and consumer researchers. Numerous researches have been found discussing various issues related to the two constructs in various field areas. The purpose of the study is to determine the customer’s perception on service quality in cafes in Chennai. The aim is to a) asses the customer’s expectations on service quality b) figure the main attributes that comply to providing the best service possible c) comparing the expectations and performance. The entire research was conducted majorly using primary data collection method. The questionnaire was prepared after looking at many service quality and customer satisfaction based papers and researches. In an overall 80 questionnaires were collected personally and data was analyzed based on that. A lot of inferences have been made and the main attributes that affect customer satisfaction and service quality have been noted in this paper.
