Abstract

Neutronyieldfrom115MeV 12C projectilesbombardingathick 27Al targethasbeenmeasuredusingthe time of flight technique.NuclearreactionmodelcodePACEandtheFLUKAMonteCarlocodeareusedto calculate theyieldandtheresultsarecomparedwiththeexperimentaldata.Theenergyformaximum neutron emissioninexperimentalmeasurementandreactioncodeoutputhasaslightdisagreementin the extremeforwardemissionanglebutinallotheranglesithasaclosematch.Theslopeofthe distribution ingeneralshowsgoodmatchbetweentheexperimentalandthereactioncoderesultsas well asFLUKAcalculations.Themaximumenergyoftheemittedneutronsisobservedtodecreasewith the increasingemissionangles.
