Abstract

The main objective of this paper is to determine whether there is significant improvement in the performance of engineering students when teaching material is provided on e-learning portal which matches the learning styles of individual student. The quantitative method of study was used, specifically the pretest-posttest method on control and experimental group. The population selected is second year engineering student class for programming language subject according to non-probability sampling method. The two groups of samples are selected randomly from one class unit. The paired t-test was applied to analyze the data. The result indicated a statistically significant increase in pretest and posttest results of experimental group. Experimental result indicated that matching learning styles with the provided teaching material improves the performance of students significantly.
