Abstract
Vigilant academia, time and again, have enunciated myriad attempts at post-colonial readings of Tennyson's Ulysses; an approach, examining the poem for reification, deference, or negation of the much galvanized term ---- Victorian ethos. Amidst polyphonous perspectives, at the risk of being parochial of past ventures, one may as yet seek to meekly address a pertinent question: i.e. as to how Tennyson's Ulysses morphs in terms of acclaimed critique brewed over years of tempered argument. It is perhaps by means of recapitulation that a more recent perspective may be gained of its inherent streak of 'colonial mythification': and surely, cultural memory plays the service of a dirge, nudging sharper focalization of excavated disputation; the paper serves to probe the same
