Abstract

The fundamental changes in the substance and structure of work and family roles, such as the increasing prevalence of dual earner couples, the influx of women into the workforce, and family arrangements that deviate from traditional gender-based roles makes work life balance a challenging task. As also there have been extensive researches conducted on Work-life policies by different organizations for women in IT. But no such thing has been done for women in other segments like healthcare, banks, education etc. This was found out to be a research gap from the different literature review conducted as part of the project. The aim of choosing this topic was to find out the various issues faced by women while meeting organizational and personal goals and to suggest methods to overcome these issues. For the purpose of this study a survey was conducted among the working women of Manipal.
