Abstract

Middle Managers play an important role in the formulation and implementation of organizational strategy. The traditional organizational mind set of considering them as factor of production does more harm than good to organizations. This paper makes an attempt to study interlinkages between Middle Managers and Strategy. The integration of different functional level strategies appears to be a tightrope walk for Middle Managers. Organizations inability to define a clear career path and right blend of authority and responsibility has led to collapse of organizational strategy pushing Middle Manager to Mid-Career Crisis. The variables were identified through an extensive literature survey leading to a possible conceptual model.
