Abstract
The present paper describes the synthesis and characterization of novel metal (II) 2, 9, 16,23- tetra-nitrophenylimino phthalocyanines (M-NPhImPc) of Co (II)~ Cu (II), Ni (II) and Zn (II). The dark bluish green coloured tetraimino substituted phthalocyanine derivatives are characterized by the various physico-chemical techniques like elemental analysis, UV-Visible, IR, magnetic susceptibility, powder X-ray diffraction and thermo gravimetric analysis (l'GA) to check the structural integrity, purity and thermal stability. The observed deep bluish green color of the complexes may be due to a2 ~e and b2/l ~ e transitions. Above said compounds were screenedfor their antifungal /l g g activities.
