Abstract

Present paper describes the synthesis and structural inve srigarions of novel metal (II) 2, 9, 16, 23-tetra-phenyiiminophtha.locyanine. M-PhlmPc) of copper (II), cobalt (II), nickel en) and zinc (IT) by condensing the 2, 9, l6, 23-tetra~aminopht1utlocyanines with benzaldehyde. The dark bluish green colored tetra-enyliminophthalocyanine derivative were charact rized by various phy ice-chemical techniques like elemental analysis, electronic, lR, magnetic susceptibility. powder Xvray diffraction and thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA) to check the structural integrity and purity. For all the complexes absorption bands wer observed in the wa elength rang' 732-770 nm, which were considerably higher than the parent ruetal-phrhalocyanmes.
