Abstract

A protection-system scheme for low-voltage dc microgrids has been suggested, and different protection equipments and grounding techniques have been presented. In addition, various fault types and their influence on the system have been examined. The kind of protection that can be used be determined by the sensitivity of the components in the microgrid. Detection techniques for different components have been recommended in order to accomplish a fast and accurate fault clearing. The faults required to be examined are done using MATLAB. Different faults such as Line to Line, Line to Ground, Bus to Bus are examined by measuring their respective fault current and current flowing through the converter and battery at that instant. Mathematically as well the results are verified
