Tracking of maximum power (Mp) from the solar panels throughout the day for incoming solar radiation is essential. This will result in solar power optimization. Instruments used to measure solar irradiance over wide range of solar spectrum are very expensive.  The objective of the paper is to develop a low cost, MPPT based solar irradiance measuring device
