Abstract

Internet of Things (IoT) is an advanced and smart technology, which communicates between things at any point of time irrespective of places and surroundings. Such unique nature of IoT is responsible for energy savings in sufficient amount. In this paper we have done a general study about the energy saving aspects in building level by implementing IoTs. IoT is an emerging technology, which can further improve the energy savings by real time monitoring, control and advanced communication. In IoT platform the status different equipment in a building can also be checked and remotely operated by the users through certain browser interface and some software. With this technique, the energy loss because of human error can be eliminated and the power consumption can be reduced through different energy saving techniques. Here we have discussed how different building equipment can be connected to the internet and how energy savings can be achieved by implementing IoT in an existing system.
