Abstract
Grounding plays a key role in electrical distribution system as it enables Reliable power distribution to load Protect system under abnormal condition (over ltage/over current) Minimize the damage to equipments The resistance is a critical parameter in the system. As the ground resistance changes with time it is essential that it is monitored periodically to ensure system reliability. This paper provides an overview of various types and choice of grounding. Besides different measurement techniques also discussed in this paper.
