The wave height and wind shows variability over a wide range of space and time scale. Variability of these parameters over the different regions of Indian Ocean continues to be the focus of active research. In the present paper, maps of meteo-marine parameters derived using two years of SAR data are discussed. From the SAR images, atmospheric and oceanic parameters such as wind speed and significant wave height and their respective regional and temporal variability are derived. The capability of ENVISAT ASAR in providing the ocean parameters in a regional scale has been made use of and the results are summarized. The results have an impact on understanding the ocean in a systematic manner. Even though the repetivity of the sensor is almost about 45 days, still it canprovide a very good database for the user community for analysis of ocean parameters
