Abstract

This paper proposes a technique for measurement of viscosity of the given liquid. The objective of the proposed work is to implement an image processing technique for measuring the rate of change of liquid level. Image of the liquid tank which is filled with liquid whose viscosity is to be measurement. The liquid is released at a constant rate. During this interval the rate of change of liquid level is analysed to determine the viscosity. For analysing the variation of liquid level, real life video once acquired on to LabVIEW platform, it is converted to frames. Region of Interest, RGB classification, edge detection, and pattern matching, techniques are carried on to detect the changes in level, by using the time consumed for the change in level, and viscosity is computed. The technique once designed is tested for liquid of varying viscosity. Results produced shows successful implementation of proposed work
