Abstract

In this paper real time implementation of Fuzzy Logic Controller for shell and tube heat exchanger (STHE) temperature process using LabVIEW will be presented. LabVIEW has the potential of graphical programming which gives the added advantage to debug the problem easily. STHE process was controlled using fuzzy set of rules which embed the linguistic variables. The proposed controller performance on the real time plant is compared with PID controller to validate the improvement in performance. The process plant responses are verified for both the controllers at the same temperature input of the cold water and hot water. The peak value of the overshoot, rise time and the settling time validate the controller implementation.
