Abstract

CdxZn1-xO (x = 0, 0.1 and 0.2) thin films were deposited on glass substrate at 723K using 0.0125M concentration of zinc acetate and cadmium acetate solution through chemical spray pyrolysis technique. The structure, surface morphology and optical properties of deposited films were studied using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope and UV–Visible spectrophotometer. All deposited films were polycrystalline in nature with hexagonal wurtzite structure. The crystalline size and fibrous structure of the deposits decreased with increase of cadmium concentration in the film. The optical transmittance and energy band gap of the films decreased with increase in cadmium content of the deposits
