Cadmium Sulphide (CdS) is one of the most promising materials for solar cells and of great interest for their practical applications in electronics and optoelectronics. CdS nano films were deposited on the glass substrate through chemical spray pyrolysis method. Cadmium Chloride (CdCl2) and Thiourea (SC(NH2)2) were used as precursor solutions for preparation of the films. The films were deposited using different substrate temperatures and keeping 0.05M concentration of spray solution. The influence of substrate temperature on the structural and optical properties of the CdS nano films was studied. All deposits shown hexagonal wurtzite structure with polycrystalline in nature and maximum crystalline size of 38nm was observed for the film deposited at 673K. The optical transmittance measurement was recorded by using UV-Visible Spectrophotometer in wavelength region from 300 nm to 800 nm. The energy gap and Urbach energy of deposited films were evaluated.
