The main aim of this paper is to highlight the role and responsibilities of college librarians in helping the college library users to use Electronic Information Resources (EIR). For effective and efficient use of any EIR, proper training and guidance are essential for the users. By conducting Information Literacy Programs (ILP), college librarians can help the users by creating awareness about various aspects of the content and tools for access to both subscribed and open access EIR for their academic and research purposes. The paper points to the specific approaches and methods to be adopted by the college librarian to enhance information literacy among the users of their library. By undertaking this new role and responsibility, college librarian could help the users to focus their abilities, skills and techniques required for accessing and utilization of EIR. The paper stresses on the efforts required from the part of college librarians to encourage library users to develop their information literacy in this digital era.
