Abstract
Measurement of flow involves flow meters which are of varying types and are chosen based on many criteria like range of measurement, type of measurement, cost, etc. Survey of existing works shows invariable use of head type flow meters. It is seen that, output of head type flow meters often varies with the temperature, which causes inaccuracy in measurement of flow. A technique is proposed in this work to design an adaptive measurement technique by filtering the effect of temperature on sensor output. Data filter are designed using particle filters and time wrapping techniques for nullifying the effect of temperature. Once designed the measurement system is subjected to test for varying conditions and results shows successful design of filter.
