Abstract

Most of the urbanization in the coming decades will occur in the tropical regions like coastal Karnataka, India. This urbanization is posing a huge pressure on the urban environment. This paper emphasizes the need for sustainability and passive design strategies at the urban neighbourhood cluster consisting of groups of buildings and open spaces to mitigate the negative effects of urbanization.
