Abstract

Zn0.60Cd0.40O films were grown on glass substrate at 723K using zinc acetate and cadmium acetate as precursor with different molar concentrations varying from 0.0125 to 0.050M. Effect of precursor concentration on structure, surface morphology, optical and electrical properties has been studied by X-ray diffraction, Scanning electron microscope, UV–Vis spectroscopy and four probe Hall measurement. All deposits shown mixed phase of hexagonal and cubic crystal structure and the crystallite size increases with the molarity of the solution. The SEM observation reveals that the spheroid structure of Zn0.60Cd0.40O is grown. The optical transmission increases with a decrease in the precursor concentration and the maximum transmission in the visible region is about 85% of the film prepared with 0.0125 M. The optical energy band gap and resistivity of the deposits has found to decrease with increase in molarity
