Abstract
In this paper, a mathematical model is developed to analyze optical characteristics of Light Emitting Diode (LED) down-lighter. LED is energy efficient and lasts longer compared to other bulbs hence, development of a mathematical model for its optical characteristics will help in estimating is life time performance. Spectral power density(SPD) of the LED down-lighter is obtained at rated temperature and drive current condition. The SPD curve is split into five curves and using a polynomial equation of
