Abstract

The whole world is moving towards advancement and every day new innovations are taking place to improve the way of living and making life easier. Each and every branch of engineering plays a pivotal role in making the world a better place to live. Over the decades all engineering disciplines have made progress in terms of technology and facilities. Robots are an ideal replacement for humans in fields like mining and underwater explorations where the life and safety of workers is at risk. Robots are a perfect solution to a range of problems that are faced in every engineering branch like aerospace, biomedical, manufacturing etc. In any modern engineering discipline smart materials play a vital role to fulfill the technology advancement. Smart material is an advanced class of stimuli-responsive materials having the ability to adapt to their surroundings. This review paper provides a deep insight into the importance and application of robotic smart materials in each engineering discipline in a systematic way. More emphasis has been given to the application of robotic smart materials used in different field of industrial production. The conclusions and future scope of this paper will assist future studies and researches in the field of robotic smart materials.
