Abstract

The development of antifungal materials in various sectors is escalating nowadays. However, a potent design and fabrication of polymer nanocomposite thin film with efficient inhibitory action against candida albicans is necessary to emerge in order to minimize the spread of fungal infections. The present article deals with the synthesis of antifungal polymer nanocomposite thin film based on polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) embedded with silver nanoparticles. The structure and properties of polymer thin film nanocomposite was investigated using UV-Vis spectroscopy, XRD, DSC and SEM. The biostatic antifungal activity of polymer thin film nanocomposite was evaluated by zone of inhibition which exhibited the excellent activity in compare to standard fluconazole
