Abstract

The Indian Crested Porcupine nvstr!» indica is a large rodent ranging across most of India and West Asia (Menon 2003, Alkon and Saltz 1988). No studies have been done on its presence and distribution in the Eastern Ghats. The present note is to report the first camera trap records of the occurrence of the Hvstrix indica from the Papikonda National Park, in the northern Eastern Ghats of Andhra Pradesh
