Abstract
A four-story plane frame structure resting on laminated rubber Bering with consistent mass system having three degrees of freedom (two translations along x, y -axes and one rotation about z -axis) at each node and subjected to harmonic ground motion is analyzed. The effect of isolation damping on the response of structure is studied. It is found form the study that the isolation damping has considerable influence on the response of base isolated structure. As expected it is found the isolation damping lowers the responses.
