Abstract
The present model examines the peristaltic mechanism of Casson fluid in a convectively heated porous channel. The variation in viscosity and thermal conductivity of the fluid are taken into account. The non-dimensional governing equations are solved by using the long wavelength and small Reynolds number approximations. The perturbation technique is utilized to determine the governing nonlinear equations. The expressions for velocity, skin friction, Nussult number, temperature, and streamlines are obtained. The impact of relevant parameters on physiological quantities of interest are analyzed and discussed through graphs. The results reveal that the skin friction coefficient enhances for an increase in the value of variable viscosity. Further, the velocity and temperature profiles diminish with an increase in the value of variable viscosity. Furthermore, an increase in the value of variable viscosity and porous parameter increases the size of trapped bolus and thereby enhances the formation of boluses
