Abstract

Operating speed of an engine remain a significant factor for customers and is controlled by the variable speed governors. Failure of engine components represents a familiar phenomenon. Failure analysis of the governor of the diesel engine remains the focus of this article. Various methods, either experimental or statistical methods are employed in various researches to conduct failure analysis. Shainin System ™, a type of statistical method is employed in the current work for failure analysis. The component search and better versus current techniques of the SS are used. The employment of the SS approach, facilitated to identify the root cause of rejection of the selected engine
