Abstract

In the World Health Organization global pathogen priority list, vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE) were ranked high-priority pathogens, identifying multidrug resistant (MDR) enterococci as an important threat [1]. Enterococcus faecalis and Enterococcus faecium have complex susceptibility profiles and can cause infections in critically ill patients.
