Abstract

A series of glycine-modified Fe/Cu-LDH (GFC) adsorbents were prepared. With a Fe/Cu mole ratio of 1:1, the adsorption of GFC1 for As (V) was characterized by its strong selectivity and high adsorption capacity. The adsorption of GFC1 for As (V) followed the Langmuir isotherms model and pseudo-second-order kinetics model, achieving a saturated adsorption capacity of 808.71 mg g−1 and reaching equilibrium after 60 min. The regeneration of GFC1 was achieved under the assistance of an electrochemical device. Compared with cycle 1, the adsorption capacity in cycle 5 was decreased by about 13.53%. Based on these advantages, GFC1 can be regarded as a possible candidate for arsenic adsorption from wastewater with a high commercial value.
