A rare association of tuberculous liver abscesses with bilateral transudative pleural effusion, ascites and venous thromboembolism in a 22-year-male is reported. While the BACTEC culture and polymerase chain reaction of the aspirate from liver abscess were positive for mycobacterium tuberculosis, all the reports of pleural fluid and ascitic fluid were negative. The bilateral pleural effusion and the ascites may be due to a non-tuberculous cause like hypoalbuminaemia. The finding of venous thromboembolism was incidental.
