Abstract

This paper deals with designing a controller (compensator) in frequency domain. A set of basic frequency domain performance requirements are presented and it has a convenient graphical interpretation in terms of disks. This idea is illustrated with an example in which several disk inequalities are put together and expressed as a single disk inequality that is valid for all frequencies. The frequency domain constraint optimizes a performance function and an optimal designable transfer function T' is obtained which derives a rational compensator C. Mat-lab, the high performance technical computing language is used as the tool for optimization
