Abstract

Ayurveda, the kernel of the ancient Indian wisdom, with the aid of the copious flora of the nation has always helped man to combat various diseases. The oil extracts of Jasminum grandifloram Linn and Tectonia grandis are well known for their therapeutic action on wounds. And also, previous studies have established their antimicrobial activities, with different extracts. However, this is an attempt to show the same, in their oil extract form comparing it with their base, utilizing the standard strain of Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa as test organisms. Thus, the research promises to create a new horizon in the field of biomedical sciences.
