Abstract
Open access is free availability immediately on publications. For a number of researchers worldwide, publishing articles in open access journals is increasingly seen as an alternative to publishing in the traditional journals. The open access movement has had a tremendous worldwide impact and involves not only the academic and publishing communities but also many other disciplines. The open access movement is supported and advanced by a spectrum of interest groups and activities such as national and international organizations, publishers, individuals, and many special events. Medical Librarians are frequently overwhelmed by the amount of open access resources. The medical resources that are already available as open access are significant, and the growth rate is phenomenal. Given the enormous amount of open access resources on the web, this paper makes an effort to list the key web sites for the Medical Librarian.
