Abstract
Herbals have been used in our country, which is a hub of herbal medicinal plants since centuries. Through various surveys are being conducted in India, the potential value of herbal products has yet to be evaluated. On the basis of statistics collected from various sources it can be quoted that 70% of Indian’s 1.1 billion population is still blindly following ancient system of medicine for their therapeutic values. In India companies like Dabur, Zandu, Baidhyanath are few reputed manufactures dealing with Herbal Medicinal Plants (HMP’s), World Health Organization (WHO) has been requested to establish regulatory parameters for HMPs so that we can ensure the products being used by the population has desirable safety and quality.
