Abstract
Titanium has been used in cast dental prostheses since 1970s.Currently titanium and its alloys are considered as alternatives to gold and base metal alloys. Though titaniumis economical, biocompatible and readily available, the technologiesnecessary for casting, machining, welding and veneering this metal are relatively new and more expensive than those used for conventional dental alloys. For these reasons, the use of titanium for dental castings has not become a widespread laboratory and clinical practice.
