Abstract

Mice administered with various doses of copperglycinate (= glycine copper complex = GC) 15 min before exposure to various doses of gamma radiation showed an increased survival as compared to the non-drug treated irradiated control.It was also observed that 750 mg/kg body weight of GC was superior to the 500 and 1000 mg/kg body weight of GC as is evidenced by higher number of survivors in this group. The free radical scavenging activity of GC increased linearly with increasing drug dose.
