Abstract
In the current healthcare scenario, electronic health records play a vital role in praviding complete , accurate and timely health information of all the individuals visiting tha healtcare facility. It helps the physician in improving the quality and efficiency of healthcare, research ,and public health surveillance and intervention.Information security in healthcare ensures the privacy, confidentiality and integrity of health data and availability of these for quality healthcare to authorized personnel.On the filp side, it appears to be a new threat to privacy and confidentiality of health information of the patient related to user authentication, physical security,data ownership ,access control, network security, education of users and various legal and ethical issues.Now the time has come to use these technologies to develop a system to protect the privacy and confidentiality of health information of each individual who seeks medical attention at heathcare facility.
