Abstract
Aim: This study was carried out in order to establish whether infection control measureswe’re being undertaken sufficiently in Radiology department and to create awareness among the Radiographer and Staff Nurse working in the Department regarding spread of infectionthrough Radiology Equipment’s. Outcome of the study: From this study we concluded that Radiographer and Staff Nurse should be oriented and create awareness about the radiology equipment spreading the infection and hygiene to follow for personal protection from infection and for the patient care. Proper qualified radiographer has to employ to work in the department. Staff nurse posted in radiology department has to get specialised training to work in radiology department. Conclusion: Healthcare Associated Infections are a major public health concern.Department of radio diagnosis and Imaging and staff need to understand these important issues, and actively participate in solutions to reduce the risk to our patients as well as personal protection.
