This is a report of a single, non-tender abdominal nodule in a 30-year-old male. Routine blood examination revealed an eosinophilia. A differential diagnosis of a lipoma and desmoid tumor was made. Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) was inconclusive, so excision was carried out. Histopathology revealed ‘Onchocerciasis’, which has not previously been reported in India. Postoperatively, a buffy coat examination of blood revealed microfilaria. The patient was started on diethylcarbamazine (DEC) and on completion of therapy, the eosinophil count and blood examination revealed no abnormality. There has been no recurrence of the disease
