Abstract

The increase in profoundly immunocompromised patients has been accompanied by an increase not only in frequency of opportunistic infections, but also in the variety of species involved. A 38-year-old HIV seropositive male patient was referred to Bowring and L.C.Hospital, Bangalore with a diagnosis of tubercular meningitis and urinary tract infection. Consecutive urine samples on direct examination and culture yielded trichosporon asahiii.
