Abstract

Projects are the backbone for various industries. For the venture to be successful, the project must be accomplished on time, within budget, and to the appropriate degree required to satisfy the objectives of client. The paper presents the results of the study conducted for identifying various delays occurred during the execution of a project. Questionnaire survey was conducted among the various personals from one of the reputed company dealing with most of the projects related to Water and Energy field; in The State of Qatar. The various causes for delays were sorted out into different groups and the study concluded that the main cause of delay was related to the Contractor Performance and the Early Planning and Design of the Project even though the hands of Ruling Party cannot be left aside. The ways in which the above mentioned factors affect the project and also other delay factors are also discussed deeply in the paper
