Abstract

IPv6 is destined to be the future of the Internet Protocol, and due to IP's critical importance, it will form the basis for the future of TCP/IP and the Internet as well. ICMPv6 can provide new version of ICMP - additional message types, e.g. “Packet Too Big” and multicast group management functions and Support for security ,Support for mobility and a real IPv6 inter network has been used for testing for a number of years as well. This paper describes IPv6 significant support for hosts which change their network addresses and point of attachment to the network. Node mobility issues and specifications and special routing considerations for mobile nodes and This scheme allows transparent interoperation between mobile nodes and their correspondent nodes, but forces all packets for a mobile node to be routed through its home agent This paper analyzes the Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) for its configuration and robustness attributes. Specifically, on-the-fly configuration and fault tolerance is emphasized.
