Abstract

In present day internet connected scenario, automated personal authentication becomes inevitable. Conventional techniques like personal identification numbers (PIN) or passwords will not satiate demanding security requirements will not satisfy demanding security requirements. Fingerprint data is one of the most authenticated and reliable fact, that is taken into account for all forensic and civilian applications. In this present work, an automated fingerprint recognition system using wavelet transform is derived and verified. In the proposed method, fingerprint patterns are matched with collected database based on the wavelet domain features which are directly extracted from gray-scale fingerprint without preprocessing
