Abstract
This study intends to compare the lightweight wall panels with conventional brick walls in the design of G+3 residential building. The design has been carried for a G+3 residential building subjected to dead, live, wind and earthquake loads as per the relevant Indian Standard Codes. As per analysis, it has been found that there is a substantial reduction in the quantities of steel and concrete when lightweight wall panels are used. Also, the utility area of the structure increases when lightweight panels are used compared to the conventional brick walls
