Abstract
Aims: To compare the motor performance of hand in stroke patients receiving undivided attention based Occupational Therapy intervention with stroke patients receiving conventional Occupational therapy intervention. Study Design: Experimental Control trial. Methods: Thirty subjects with cerebral vascular were divided into two groups, control &experimental. Both groups underwent hand performance assessment in four different experimental conditions using primary &secondary tasks for both right &left hand. The control group received conventional occupational therapy the experimental group received undivided attention based occupational therapy intervention. Followup assessments were made on first, third &sixth week respectively. Results: Analysis revealed improvement of both the groups in hand performance after intervention. Even though the control group improved over a period of six weeks, when compared to the experimental group, the improvement of hand in time by the experimental group is highly significant (p<0.05). Conclusion: The results were consistent with the significant improvement in hand performance in undivided based occupational therapy as compared with conventional based occupational therapy intervention
